August Feels like a Halfway Point

The year starting in the middle of Winter never made sense to me.
New things don't really get going till Spring, and then Summer is a whole set of adventures.

And when those adventures are done, and Fall moves in, then I feel like we're half done with the year, as the cold moves closer gently.

So! With the year properly halfway done, let's look forward and back...

New MUSIC

My new song, "MPREGMAFIA" is out now!
You can take a listen here

For my last album I had a very focused vision, which meant a lot of ideas at the time ended up on the cutting room floor or in the "we'll come back to this later" folder. For this next run of songs, I've given myself a lot more space to breathe and experiment!

You can also see that reflected in my visuals... I've been having lots of fun messing around with my greenscreen.

This next song is about Femboys and explores intimacy in a very different way than my usual songs. It's the short version because I wanted to have a specific person drop a verse on it (hence the references to Chinese boys in the Chorus - it will make more sense once you hear the long version!) but due to circumstances that verse isn't going to be ready for a while longer.
I still wanted to share a version of this song with you before my September break, so... Enjoy!

Upcoming Gigs

I'm sharing the stage with the one and only Bushbayer
at the Vegan Beats Festival on the 5.9.2026

Currently this is the last big show I have planned for the year... so swing by and show your support!

In addition, The Funk Doctaz will be playing at Mystic Creatures in Poland
in September! Exciting!

Now that we've spoken about the future, let's talk about what happened this year already...

Our Shows this Year!

This year, we played more shows than ever before, at all kinds of venues! We brought the funk new locations in the city we'd never heard of before, and travelled the countryside for a variety of shows.

We also made history and became the first Munich Rap Act ever to headline at Lost Weekend!.

To celebrate a busy year, I wrote a little article -

Learning to listen

The great MF DOOM (may he rest in power) once said: "The conversation isn’t always about what I’ve got to say, sometimes it’s just time to listen."

(Here's a link to the interview, it's excellent)

Lately I've been on a mission to become the best listener in the Community - to hear the tunes my people are dropping in a way noone else does.

As part of my journey to get there, I've conducted some interviews with a variety of artists and event managers within the scene, you can find 'em here:

The reception in the community has been overwhelmingly positive!
Artists have told me that they felt really seen by my questions.

If you want to be interviewed, send us an email, though keep in mind I only interview artists I've seen perform live.

And there's a very specific interview I'm trying to land later this year... I'll keep you posted if that goes anywhere.

September Break

You won't be hearing as much from me in September... I'll be off in the woods focusing on another aspect of my life (med school let's go).

I'll be back in Oktober - you can catch me at the Yaelokre concert in Munich - and am looking forward to bringing you the experimental rap vibes once again.

Until then, this is MFG, signing off.
